A Place Called Grace…
Are
you enjoying life’s journey? Do you
know your destination? Are you looking
for that place called Grace? Have road
blocks and hazards like greed, lust,
vanity, materialism and pride hindered
you on your journey? Are you feeling
overwhelmed, confused, misguided…lost?
Here are a few signs to guide you along
life’s highway:
Highway
146
– John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth and
the life, no man cometh unto the Father
except by me.”
One
Way
– God created you in His image for one
purpose. He wants to have a personal
and eternal relationship with you – John
3:16 “For God so loved the world that He
gave His only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in Him should not
perish, but have everlasting life.”
Bridge
Out
– When Adam and Eve turned their back
and disobeyed God, sin entered the human
equation. Being human is being born
with sin. It’s our sin nature that
keeps us separate from a personal and
eternal relationship with a holy and
righteous God. Sin creates a gap
between God and humanity that cannot be
bridged. No matter how moral, good,
religious or knowledgeable we are, the
gap remains. Romans 3:23 - “For all
have sinned and come short of the Glory
of God.”
Cross Road
– He allowed His Son, Jesus Christ, to
be sacrificed and shed His blood on a
cross as payment for our sin. If Christ
had not bridged the gap with His death,
burial and resurrection, we would have
to pay the cost of sin with our own
death. Romans 5:8 – “But God commendeth
His love toward us in that, while we
were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Yield
– A gift always demands a response. How
are you going to respond to God’s gift
of love? It’s up to you and me…we can
yield our lives to Christ by accepting
what He did on the cross, or we can
reject the gift. Revelation 3:20 –
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone will hear my voice and open
the door, I will come in to him.”
Most of us miss Highway 146 because we
are on the wrong roads in life. We
don’t want to yield ourselves to God
because we are on the road to
Pleasantville, Attainmentville,
Doubtville or Religionville.
If you want to make sure you arrive in
Heaven, you have to yield your life to
God by praying. When you pray, you admit
to God that you are a sinner, repent of
your sins and make a U-turn for Highway
146.
How do I receive God’s
gift of Jesus Christ?
To the best of your ability, say these
words to God…
God, I admit to you that I
have messed up, that I have fallen
short. I turn from my sins right now; I
want to make a U-turn. I believe, God,
that you love me so much that you
provided a way, and that way is Jesus
Christ, who lived a perfect life, who
died on the cross for my sins and rose
again, God. I believe that right now,
God, I ask Jesus Christ to come into my
life and take control of me. I open up
my hands to You, my heart to You, and my
life to You. Amen
