Notes From The Choir Loft First Quarter 2012
"Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord." Ephesians 5:19
The Music Ministry Leaders all met on January 4th and we came up with some great plans for all of our choirs and orchestra in 2012. I have purchased several new music books and anthems for our choir to learn this year. Our Sanctuary Choir Rehearsal will be on Sunday afternoons from 4:45 -5:45 p.m. This year the first half hour will be sectional practices where the ladies and the men are divided to better learn the specific parts and then the last half hour we will all come together and complete our rehearsal. This is something that we tried in 2011 for our Christmas Cantata and it worked so well that I am continuing this format for 2012 so that we can learn more of our new music faster.
This year the Sanctuary Choir & Worship Orchestra will again be participating in the BLack Creek Baptist Association Worship Choir. More information on this will be coming soon regarding the rehearsal and performance schedule.
We voted this year we will have a social once a quarter for the Sanctuary Choir & Worship Orchestra. This will be a great time and opportunity for our Choir & Orchestra members to get to know each other better.
